Lily Cozzens is an artist, printmaker, and illustrator from Chicago living and working in Philadelphia. Her work has always been figurative and detailed, though it has varied in materials and execution. She began printmaking during her BFA at Columbia College Chicago (grad. ’19) and pursued it professionally after graduating. Screenprinting helped develop her artistic focus beyond her background in illustration through total daily immersion in color theory and image-making. She began painting seriously in early 2023 after focusing mostly on drawing previously. The paintings are capturing a single second, while posing questions to the viewer about what happened before and after. Her preferred mediums are oil paint and ballpoint pen.
